Dawn was the heart of her family. She was the first phone call in moments of celebration, the steady voice during difficult times, and a trusted source of guidance, support, and unconditional love. More than anything, she wanted the very best for the people she loved.

It wasn't until her battle with leukemia that her family fully understood the depth of her courage and strength. Even in her final days, Dawn remained focused on others, offering reassurance, providing comfort, and making sure everything was taken care of both for the time she had left and for the family she would leave behind.

What her family grieves most is the time she was robbed of: watching her granddaughters grow, celebrating their milestones, and continuing to build the special bond she shared with each of them. Nothing brought Dawn greater joy than seeing her grandchildren together and appreciating the unique light each one brought into her life.

The Dawn Casmer Foundation was created to honor her legacy and carry her compassion forward. Through fundraising, awareness, and support for leukemia research and families affected by blood cancers, we hope to help create a future where fewer families experience the loss, heartbreak, and missed moments that Dawn's family endures every day.

Dawn was just 60 years old when she was diagnosed with leukemia in 2023. What followed was a journey that no family is ever truly prepared for: countless appointments, difficult decisions, uncertainty, and the heartbreaking reality of how much remains unknown about this disease.

As her family stood beside her through every step of the fight, they witnessed not only the emotional and physical toll of leukemia, but also the challenges families face while searching for answers, hope, and more time with the people they love.

The Dawn Casmer Foundation was born from that experience. It exists to honor Dawn's life, strengthen the fight against leukemia, and help create a future where more families get the time, answers, and hope that hers deserved.

A leukemia diagnosis changes everything.

It doesn't arrive alone. It comes with endless appointments, long drives to hospitals, difficult conversations, missed work, mounting expenses, and the constant uncertainty that follows every test, every treatment, and every phone call. Most of all, it brings a fear that no family should have to face.

The Dawn Casmer Foundation was built by people who have lived that reality firsthand. After losing Dawn, our family made a commitment that her fight would continue to make a difference in the lives of others. We are dedicated to advancing leukemia research, while also helping ease the financial burdens that treatment places on patients and their families.

Because progress against leukemia happens in two important ways: through the breakthroughs that happen in research laboratories, and through the support that helps families keep going when they need it most.

Today, we are working toward our first fundraising goal of $25,000, which will be used to fund research grants, assist families with treatment-related expenses, transportation, lodging, or other support services.

Every dollar raised honors Dawn's legacy. Every donation helps bring hope to families fighting leukemia today. And every step forward brings us closer to a future where fewer families have to experience the heartbreak of losing someone they love too soon.
